The park is converted into a Christmas town, with lights, carolers and attractions. The first &#8220;Holiday in the Park&#8221; was in 1985 and it has run each year since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/parktimes.com\/sections\/parkwide\/hip\/hipsnow1.jpg\" alt=\"hipsnow1.jpg (33293 bytes)\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Holiday in the park features vary from year to year, but in the past have included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>decorating the trees and buildings with holiday lights;<\/li><li>changing the shows to holiday seasonal shows;<\/li><li>stringing holiday lights on the Chute-Out, converting it into a Giant Christmas Tree;<\/li><li>placing a large star on two sides of the top of the tower;<\/li><li>opening a &#8220;snow hill&#8221; for sledding;<\/li><li>Christmas Carolers singing at various locations around the park;<\/li><li>a Lunny-tunes show at the front gate.<\/li><li>In early years, horse carriages took riders through the park. These have been abounded.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/parktimes.com\/sections\/goodtimes\/chuteout\/gtscho3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/parktimes.com\/sections\/goodtimes\/chuteout\/gtscho3.jpg\" alt=\"gtscho3.jpg (25004 bytes)\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first year, only a few rides were open. In the recent years, however, many of the rides and attractions have been open.
