It was originally named&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>Tony Hawk Big Spin<\/em>&nbsp;for the extreme sport athlete, Tony Hawk, and his \u201cbig spin\u201d skateboarding maneuver. &nbsp;The name was&nbsp;changed in 2010 to The&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Pandemonium<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com:2083\/cpsess9400801345\/viewer\/home%2fparkxs%2fpublic_html%2fsections%2fmodern%2fpandemonium\/tonyhawksign.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com:2083\/cpsess9400801345\/viewer\/home%2fparkxs%2fpublic_html%2fsections%2fmodern%2fpandemonium\/tonyhawksign.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Tony Hawk Big Spin, later renamed the Pandemonium.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The ride consists of eight single car units with four seats each. Each unit is mounted on a round base that allows it to spin around in a 360 degree circle&nbsp;as it&nbsp;travels around the track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ride was built by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides of Germany&nbsp;at a cost of $6.5 million dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/parktimes.com\/sections\/modern\/pandemonium\/pandemonium%20i.jpg\" alt=\"Que House\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The ride lift is 53 feet high with a 27-foot initial drop. The units travel around the 1,351 foot long at 31 mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ride is designed for a throughput of 800 riders per hour with a ride&nbsp;run of&nbsp;1 minutes and 51 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Big Spin<\/em>&nbsp;is similar to other&nbsp;<em>Tony Hawk\u2019s Big Spin<\/em>&nbsp;rides that opened the season before at&nbsp;<em>Six Flags Fiesta Texas<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Six Flags Saint Louis<\/em>. The ride opened as&nbsp;<em>Mr. Six\u2019s Pandemonium<\/em>&nbsp;at&nbsp;<em>Six Flags New England<\/em>&nbsp;in 2005. Another&nbsp;<em>Big Spin<\/em>&nbsp;opened at&nbsp;<em>Six Flags Discovery Kingdom<\/em>&nbsp;in the 2008 season.
