The entrance to the Mexican section was marked by the Banderas de Colores, the colorful canopied gardens, which lead to the section from the front gate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main attraction in the original Mexican Section was&nbsp;the <a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/fiesta-train\/\">Fiesta Train<\/a>.<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/sections\/mexico\/fiesta\/\"> <\/a>For the small children, there was a <a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/goatride\/\">goat-cart ride<\/a>. The Mexican Market provided shopping and an El Chico restaurant provided food.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/parktimes.com\/sections\/mexico\/hatride\/hat1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/indian-village\/\">Indian Village<\/a>&nbsp;entrance was behind the Indian Trading Post, which was on the border of the Mexican and Texas sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; For the second season, (1962), the Sidewinder cat and mouse roller coaster was moved to Mexico and renamed the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/usasection\/sidewinder-rollercoaster\/\">La Cucaracha<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/sections\/usasection\/sidewinder-rollercoaster\/\">.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1963, the Goat-cart ride was removed, and more shopping areas were added to the market place.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/parktimes.com\/sections\/mexico\/hatride\/mxhat1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After the 1964 season, both the<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/usasection\/sidewinder-rollercoaster\/\">&nbsp;La Cucaracha<\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/indian-village\/\">Indian Village<\/a>&nbsp;were removed and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/sections\/mexico\/elsombrero\/\">El Sombrero Hat Ride<\/a>&nbsp;was added at the former site of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/usasection\/sidewinder-rollercoaster\/\">La Cucaracha<\/a>&nbsp;for the 1965 season.&nbsp; The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/elsombrero\/\">El Sombrero Hat Ride<\/a>&nbsp;was later moved to the other side of the Mexican section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1968, a remodeled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/fiesta-train\/\">Fiesta Train<\/a>&nbsp;replaced the ride&#8217;s original train and animations. The remodeled ride remained until the 1978 season, after which it was removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; At the end of the 1979 season, the Banderas de Colores (Covered walkway) was removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1981, the Spanish&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/spain\/conquistador\/\">Conquistador<\/a>&nbsp;was added in the middle of the Mexican section, blurring the distinction between the Mexican and Spanish sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1986 the<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/la-vibora\/\">&nbsp;Avalanche BobSled Ride<\/a>&nbsp;was added at the former site of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/parktimes.com\/ptsarticles\/welcome\/sections\/mexico\/fiesta-train\/\">Fiesta Train<\/a>.
