There exact origin is unclear, with some arguing that the various Spee-Lunkers were located by trained talent agents individually and in small groups all over the globe. Most experts now believe, however, that all of the Spee-Lunker came from the same place, where they already lived and worked together prior to their arrival at the Park. In any case, it is well established that they lived along the rivers of underground caves prior to their arrival at Six Flags, and were thus well suited for providing entertainment within the Six Flags Spee-Lunker's Cave Ride. The Spee-Lunkers were best known for their long pointed faces and their long pointed ears. Their big eyes were useful for seeing in the dark caves in which they reside. Their big ears were also useful to enhance their hearing in the dark. Some of the best remembered Spee-Lunkers are: the Spee-Lunker's String Choir; the organist; the bolder tossers; the card players; the great shark hunter; and the jail bird; They love music, fishing and practical jokes. Their exact arrangement with Six Flags is unclear, although we all know that Six Flags was exempt from minimum wage laws at the time. In addition to being their stage, the Cave was their home and they very rarely ventured out, although from time to time one could be seen standing on the rocks above the que house surveying the crowds and inviting guests in. In the late 1980's Six Flags replaced the Spee-Lunkers with the licensed characters of Warner Brothers. At that time, the Spee-Lunkers left Six Flags forever. UNCONFIRMED SIGHTINGS The Spee-Lunkers, who had not been home for over twenty years, were scattered to the winds when displaced from their home at Six Flags. No one knows where they all are now: Rumors of Spee-Lunkers have been reported at the following locations: selling Rabbit skin hats at a booth in the West-End in Dallas, Texas; working as a tour-guide at Inner-Space Caverns on I-35 North of Austin, Texas; consulting on an independent remake of "Journey to the Center of the Earth"; writing for an underground newspaper in San Antonio, Texas; working as a store clerk at a "Spencer's Gift" store in Houston, Texas; developing a children's program for PBS; playing as a Jazz band in the French Quarter at New, Orleans; Posing with E.T. for photographs at Universal Studios. applying for a Job at Disney-World; and selling home canned Rabbit soup on the roadside North of Houston; One lawless Lunker was reportedly in custody of the authorities in the County Jail in Parker County, Texas. According to a confidential source, when a jailer went to feed him breakfast, he was gone, as were all of the bars on the jail window. Metal filings were found in the area under the window. For some unexplainable reason, it has been reported that "rabbit-hunting" is now the Spee-Lunkers most popular pastime and Spee-Lunkers are reportedly frequently seen incognito at rifle ranges shooting at silhouette of rabbits REPORT YOUR SIGHTINGS This page is dedicated to finding each of the remaining Spee-Lunkers for the benefit of all of the others.
